Ryan Lochte Opens Up About Wedding Planning and Starting a Family
The Olympic swimmer added that he's "ready to be a dad."
— -- Ryan Lochte is already thinking about planning his wedding to fiancĂ©e Kayla Rae Reid after announcing he proposed Sunday.
The Olympic swimmer and "Dancing With the Stars" contestant said he wants to be heavily involved in planning the big day.
"That's one of the things that I wanted to do because this is not just her wedding, even though everyone always says it's the woman's wedding, but it's mine too and we're a couple now," he told E! News.
"I wanted to be involved as much as possible," Lochte, 32, continued. "I want to help her pick out the flowers, help pick out the cake ... like everything. I want to be right there with her."
Lochte's professional partner on "DWTS," Cheryl Burke, is apparently invited to the wedding. Still, the swimmer has a special task for her.
"She's going to be choreographing the whole thing," Lochte said.
Burke, 32, who was by his side for the interview replied: "Well, that's going to cost you, buddy!"
Not only is Lochte thinking about his wedding, but also starting his family.
"Before I even got engaged, I wanted a family of my own," he said. "I wanted to find the right one first and then have kids with her.
"Now that I've found the right one, that's something we definitely talk about," Lochte added. "We want kids and I mean, I'm ready to be a dad."
