Shailene Woodley reveals she doesn't own a TV on Emmys red carpet
The Emmy Award-nominated actress dropped the bombshell at the Emmys.
— -- Despite being nominated for an Emmy for her role on "Big Little Lies," Shailene Woodley revealed on Sunday she doesn't own a television.
"I technically don't have a home anywhere, so I suppose there's no TV to put in that home," she said on the red carpet for the awards show that celebrates the best in television.
"I haven't had TV since I moved out of my parents' house at 18," she added. "All my friends who watch TV, I always just ask them when they have time to."
Woodley, 25, said that although she doesn't watch television, she does fill up her time with another hobby.
"I'm a reader, so I always read a book instead of turning on my TV," she said.
“Big Little Lies," was nominated for an impressive 16 nominations.
The "Divergent" actress has long been open about being pretty retro when it comes to technology.
"I don't even have a smart phone," she said in a 2014 interview with The Daily Beast. "I don't even have a cell phone!
"If I were to have one, it would be a flip phone," Woodley added.
She's also described herself as having a "fairly alternative" lifestyle.
"I gather my own spring water from mountains every month. I go to a farm to get my food," she told Flaunt magazine in 2013. "I make everything from my own toothpaste to my own body lotions and face oils.
Woodley continued, "I make my own medicines; I don't get those from doctors. I make my own cheese and forage wild foods and identify wild plants. It's an entire lifestyle. It's appealing to my soul."
