E! News, who first reported the news, said that it was Perry who called it quits.
"They've been fighting," a source told Us Weekly. "Of course this happens all the time, I can't keep track anymore. But for now they are done."
A rep for the couple had not responded to requests for comment, and neither Perry, 29, nor Mayer, 36, has addressed the issue. However, there are signs that the couple may be done.

Mayer and Perry have been good about supporting each other at work functions, but he did not come along with her on her recent trip to Europe. And while Perry returned home to Los Angeles last week, Mayer was spotted all the way across the country in New York City on Feb. 25.

Us Weekly noted that Perry is consumed by her upcoming Prismatic world tour, which is set to run from May until November. "She's stressed," a source told the magazine. "She is going to be on tour for forever." By the same token, Mayer is in the middle of a tour of his own. (In April, he'll head to Australia.)
|They Haven't Tweeted at Each Other|
On Jan. 31, Perry, who has more Twitter followers than any other celebrity, encouraged her fans to follow Mayer, but she hasn't Tweeted about him since Feb. 14. Meanwhile, he also encouraged his fans to follow her, and on Feb. 5, he wrote, "Together, my girlfriend and I have over 50 MILLION TWITTER FOLLOWERS." He has not written about her since, though he is still following her. (She's following him too.)

Well, sort of. While attending Miley Cyrus' concert in L.A. last week, Perry puckered up for the "Wrecking Ball" singer. No word from Mayer, though Perry did tweet at Cyrus, "I adore you."
|They've Done This Before|
This would not be the first time this couple has called it quits. Last year, Perry explained that their last big break-up was his doing, but ultimately it proved to be positive for both of them. "This is what led me to this new awakening, this realizing, if I don't do some self-love, I'm not going to be able to keep the love that I want," she told Marie Claire.
