Simon Cowell Wants More Kids: 'I Was Born To Be A Dad'
He just welcomed baby Eric last month and is already thinking next one.
March 6, 2014 — -- Simon Cowell is really enjoying fatherhood ... no really. He's even thinking of having more babies.
Cowell and his girlfriend Lauren Silverman welcomed baby Eric on Feb. 14 and recently, the music mogul told Extra, "I was born to be a dad."
Prior to the baby's birth, Cowell voiced his concerns to Silverman, saying, "What if I like the dogs more than him?"
"I held him within five minutes of him being born," he continued. "Literally within seconds of him being born, I got it."

As for having more kids, Cowell seemed open to the idea.
"I wouldn't rule it out. ... I had a brother when I was younger, so I think it's kind of cool to have two," he said.
Cowell also detailed his mad dash to the hospital, since he was in London when Silverman was giving birth in New York.
"I had spoken to Lauren that night at about 3 a.m. my time, so it was about 10 a.m. her time and I was filming 'Britain's Got Talent,'" he explained. "The phone rings at half past 5 a.m., 'I'm about to give birth.' OK, so we have to find a flight, we did and I got there with two hours to spare."

The boy is named Eric in honor of Cowell's father, who died in 1999. Cowell's mother Julie was "touched by" the gesture.
"I look at him, Eric, and I think of my dad all the time, it's a really good thing," he said.
