Sofia Vergara Open to Babies With Joe Manganiello
"Modern Family" star says her relationship with her fiancé is "easy."
— -- Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello are planning more than just their wedding later this year.
The couple who got engaged Christmas Day are already talking starting a family.
"Joe is younger than me. He's 38. He's never had kids. How am I going to say no?" the 42-year-old "Modern Family" star, who became a single-mom to her son Manolo when she was 20, told Redbook's June issue. "I tell him if we're going to do this, we have to do it, like, now, because I don't want to be 50 with a baby."
Vergara is currently engaged in a legal battle with her ex-fiance, businessman and banking heir Nick Loeb, over embryos he says the couple used in-vitro fertilization to create.
Addressing the controversy on "Good Morning America" earlier this month, Vergara said, "It shouldn’t be out there for people to give their opinion when there’s nothing to talk about. There’s papers signed. There is a court date. He shouldn’t be creating something so ugly out of nothing."
Meanwhile, Vergara, who was previously married to her high school sweetheart and Manolo's father for two years, described her relationship with Manganiello as "easy."
"I finally realized that relationships don't need to be so much work," she told Redbook. "Ever since we met, it's been so easy. I'm very suspicious. I'm like, 'It's not normal that we've been together for nine months and we haven't had a big fight or anything.'"
Instead, Vergara has learned an important lesson since turning 40.
"I have learned that I have to let them be men," she told the magazine. "I think it's very important not to try to take over on everything -- even if you think you can do it easier or better. If you don't let them do things, you create a cycle and then you complain that they never do anything."
