— -- A new "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" clip appears to tease "something else" besides the light and dark sides of the Force.

While old Jedi Master Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) is training Rey (Daisy Ridley), he says "reach out" and asks, "What do you see?"

The young Force user responds, "Light, darkness and something else." The light side is historically for the Jedi and the guardians of the galaxy, while the dark is for the Sith and those looking to rule.

Luke yells at Rey to "resist it!"

It's not clear what this something else is, but you then see villain Supreme Leader Snoke. Actor Andy Serkis, who plays Snoke in the film, has already said in previous interviews that he is neither Jedi nor Sith, so he or his kind might be this "something else," or it could be a total misdirection on behalf of the trailer editing crew.

We've also already seen Luke tell Rey that the Jedi need to end, which means something new is certainly coming, whether it involves Rey and Luke, Snoke, or all of them waits to be seen.

We are just under three weeks out from the release of "Last Jedi," the follow to 2015's "Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and this latest teaser only adds to the limited information we've gotten previously.

Fans caught a glimpse earlier this month of a clip that started off with Luke entering the iconic Millennium Falcon for the first time in decades and flipping the lights on in the cockpit. We then hear from Snoke and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) talking about the past and what's to come in the battle between the light and dark sides of the force.

Here's a look at past trailers to get you completely caught up for the film's Dec. 15 nationwide release date.

Lucasfilm, the production company behind "Star Wars," and ABC News are both owned by parent company Disney.
