Aug. 14 -- Britney Spears may be past her Madonna admiration phase.

The singer's new single appears to be paying tribute to another fashion-conscious 1980s hitmaker Prince.

Spears' record company's Web site has revealed the first single off her new album will be "I'm a Slave 4 U." The lettering immediately brings to mind the writing style popularized by Prince on songs like "I Would Die 4 U" and "U Got the Look."

The blonde singer has previously pointed to Madonna as one of her favorite pop icons, with the Material Mom also praising the young star.

The title of her upcoming album has not yet been announced. It's due in stores in November.

Bono Pays Tribute to His Ill Father

U2's frontman made a personal tribute during a recent gig in Britain.

Bono spoke publicly for the first time about his father's battle with cancer.

The singer, né Paul Hewson, dedicated the song "Kite" to his 75-year-old dad, saying, "He only has a few days left in this world. This is for Bob, you old tough-o."
