April 5 -- The couple booted from Fox's Temptation Island for having a child strictly against the rules said Wednesday they signed on only to gain publicity and knew their love would never be put to the test.

"We were actors going on the show for publicity," said Ytossie Patterson.

Patterson and Taheed Watson are suing the network for defamation, claiming producers knew all along they had a child, but chose to look the other way.

Patterson says producers let her call her two-year-old son before being kicked off the program.

"All we want is for the public to realize that we told the truth from the beginning," Watson said. "They lied about not knowing we had a child."

Making Him Wait

Actress Tara Reid is so busy she's going to have to delay her marriage to MTV's Carson Daly.

She has a starring role as the drumming kitty in Josie and the Pussycats, opening next week. And she's now hard at work on The Guest with Molly Shannon and Ashton Kutcher.

Wedding invitations had already been mailed out. But now, the May nuptials are simply out of the question, especially with the actors strike looming in July.

But Reid isn't worried. "I'm 25 years old," she said. "Right now we both have to make adjustments. Once we kind of settle a bit, it will just be a better time to try to plan a wedding."

Rosie Heals a Wound

Rosie O'Donnell was rushed to the hospital Wednesday morning after stitches in her hand became infected.

The Queen of Nice had gone under the knife last Friday for tendon surgery. She then unveiled the wound on Monday's Rosie O'Donnell Show and Live with Regis & Kelly. "She probably should have spent a little more time at home and not have shown the entire world her stitches," her publicist said.

Joy Behar of The View has taken over Rosie's hosting duties.
