February 8 -- After dating for nearly five years, Bush singer Gavin Rossdale says he wants to make an honorable woman of No Doubt's Gwen Stefani and that the couple plans to tie the knot before the calendar draws to a close.

"We are well in love and we will be husband and wife within a year," Rossdale told British tabloid The Sun. "She's a top girl and it really feels right. We're made for each other."

Stefani, 30, hasn't confirmed the plans, but Rossdale appears to be answering some of the very personal lyrics from her band's latest album, Return of Saturn.

"I want to cook him dinner/ But I am more indecisive than ever. Who will be the one to marry me?" she sings on "Marry Me."

After the album's spring release, she told Wall of Sound that her boyfriend is the subject of some, but not all, of the lyrics on the LP. The album's first single, "Ex-girlfriend," for example, is about band bassist Tony Kanal, who dated Stefani for seven years.

"Gavin was a huge influence on me," she said. "I mean, we've been together for four years; I'm a different person since we've been together. He was very supportive in the making of the album and inspiring and loving and all those things."

With Return of Saturn up for a Best Rock Album Grammy, the paparazzi will be getting their cameras ready to catch the photogenic couple and their frequently brightly dyed hair as they arrive at the Feb. 21 ceremony in Los Angeles.
