Baby on the Way for the Hasselbecks
Elisabeth Hasselbeck and husband Tim expect second child due in Nov.
April 30, 2007 — -- ABC's "The View" is full of announcements this month.
No, Star Jones is not coming back in Rosie O'Donnell's place, and, no, another co-host is not leaving the show … yet.
This time it's a baby alert.
Elisabeth Hasselbeck, co-host of "The View," will announce live on today's show that she is due in November with her second child. Hasselbeck and her husband, Tim, quarterback for the New York Giants, have been married for nearly five years and have a 2-year-old daughter, Grace Elisabeth.
"Tim and I are incredibly thankful and excited," Hasselbeck said.
Hasselbeck worked as a Puma shoe designer before she came into the spotlight for finishing fourth in the television program "Survivor: The Australian Outback." At the end of the game, she was voted the most popular "survivor" among fans. She went on to guest host "The View" in 2003, and in a "Survivor"-style counsel, the co-hosts at the time picked her to join their talk show team.
Hasselbeck's agent could not be reached for comment.
Producers for "The View" have surely started thinking about a co-host to replace O'Donnell, who announced that she would leave the show in June, but will they need to start looking for yet another replacement?
Only time, and Hasselbeck's belly, will tell.
