Lady Gaga Goes Nude, Stands Up for Gays

Aug. 17, 2009 — -- Lady Gaga may not be a he-she, but she sure is having fun with the rumors.

The playful pop star, whose lady-ness was affirmed by her manager earlier this month, poses nude in the September issue of Out magazine, showing off almost all of her, well, lady parts.

She also stands up for her gay fans. Talking about her upcoming, co-headlining tour with Kanye West, Gaga relayed to Out what she told the rapper/producer:

"I just want to be clear before we decide to do this together: I'm gay. My music is gay. My show is gay. And I love that it's gay. And I love my gay fans and they're all going to be coming to our show. And it's going to remain gay."

Gaga herself remains 100-percent woman, a fact that required reiteration after an up-skirt photo sparked rumors that she's a hermaphrodite. The photo, taken from video shot at England's Glastonbury festival, revealed a bulge between Gaga's legs -- a bulge that could have been caused by undergarments, a bad angle, or, as some blogs suggested, a penis.

Bossip.com alleged that Gaga said this when asked about the subject:

"It's not something that I'm ashamed of, just isn't something that I go around telling everyone. Yes. I have both male and female genitalia, but I consider myself a female. It's just a little bit of a penis and really doesn't interfere much with my life. The reason I haven't talked about it is that it's not a big deal to me. Like come on. It's not like we all go around talking about our v***. I think this is a great opportunity to make other multiple gendered people feel more comfortable with their bodies. I'm sexy, I'm hot. I have both a **** and a p*****. Big f******g deal."

When ABCNews.com asked Gaga's manager if the "Poker Face" singer is a hermaphrodite and if she said the above quote, he replied:

"This is completely ridiculous." Lady Gaga in the September issue of Out magazine.

In June, she elaborated on the issue to USA Today, saying, "I don't think being gay or being bisexual or being sexually free is anything that should be hidden. Everybody has a right to their secrecy, of course, but I don't feel particularly shy about it. It is who I am. I sing very openly about it in my music, so I suppose I could say that I choose not to hide it in interviews because I don't care to hide it and, two, because it is very obvious in my music that I like women."

Today in Israel, a slightly more demure Gaga emerged. Covering up her skimpy top with a black leather jacket bearing a Star of David, the pop star told reporters she would tone down her sexpot image for the last show of her Fame Ball tour, scheduled for Wednesday in Tel Aviv.

But eventually, the party girl came out again. After calling Jerusalem "sacred and holy," Gaga added that she was more than to excited to see the city than to "get drunk in a bar," though she might "get drunk in Jerusalem."
