Taylor Swift Now the Most-Followed Person on Instagram

Taylor has just amassed 45.5 million followers on the social media site, beating Kardashian's total of 45.4 by a thousand followers.

Likely adding to Taylor's total was a photo she posted Monday of herself modeling a sweater a fan kitted for her. The sweater was an exact replica of one of the Polaroid photos of Taylor included in the package for her "1989" album, right down to the handwritten caption.

Then, Swift posted a photo of the cover of the new EP by YouTube star Troye Sivan, who has over 3.4 million subscribers to his channel, and commented that she was a fan. And after that, she posted an adorable photo of herself with her cat Olivia Benson.

Cat pictures plus fan gifts plus YouTube stars? It's a can't-miss social media strategy. Well-played.
