Many celebrity relationships didn't make it through the year.
— -- intro: Maintaining a relationship is hard enough, but in Hollywood it becomes nearly impossible thanks to demanding work schedules, lots of travel and paparazzi constantly wanting to snap a photo of the happy couple.
Beloved couples such as Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner along with Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale sadly split this year. Not to mention the country music scene was rocked this year thanks to the divorce announcements of Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton along with Reba McIntyre and Narvel Blackstock.

"Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting have mutually decided to end their marriage," Cuoco's rep told People magazine at the time.
The actress, 30, and the tennis player, 28, married on New Year's Eve in 2013, months after they started dating.
Afterward, Cuoco found herself back at a tattoo parlor to cover up the Roman numerals 12-31-13 on her back, which represented the day she wed Sweeting. The "Big Bang Theory" actress turned the tattoo into a giant moth.

Despite splitting, Garner, 43, and Affleck,43, continue to live on the same property with their three children, a source told ABC News.
Affleck, 43, famously said he fell in love with Garner on set of their 2001 film, "Pearl Harbor."

The couple wed in 2011 in Texas after five years of dating. They celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary this past May.
This was the second divorce for Shelton. He divorced first wife, Kaynette Gern, in 2006.
It didn't take long for Shelton, 39, to move on. Months after the split, Shelton confirmed he was dating fellow "The Voice" coach, Gwen Stefani. Meanwhile, Lambert, 32, a Texas native, moved back to Nashville, where she got her start in 2003 on the reality competition "Nashville Star."

The Oscar winner and Martinez got engaged in March 2012, and later wed in France's Burgundy region in July 2013.
A month later, the "Extant" star told Extra that she was "doing OK" after the split. "I keep pushing and I'm really happy to be here because whenever you're going through anything in life, when you step outside yourself and focus on others, that's always the best remedy for any situation that you'd rather not be dealing with," she added.
It was Berry's third marriage.

"I believe that I will come out of this healthier and stronger than I was before," Lavigne said. "I've gained a lot of perspective on my life."

McEntire, 60, and Blackstock, 59, her manager, married in 1989. The next year, they welcomed a son, Shelby, who is now a race care driver. Blackstock also has children from a previous marriage, including son Brandon, who is married to Kelly Clarkson.
Together, McEntire and Blackstock own Starstruck Entertainment, a talent management group that represents the likes of Blake Shelton.
This was the second marriage for both.
