"They're such pros," Ball said. "This year they both have to watch each other make out with other people. And it's tough, but they're total pros and I couldn't be happier."
Tomashoff said the love triangle also makes female fans of "True Blood" very happy. But what's great about the show is there is something for everyone. "There's comedy, horror, action, romance -- and all these different things appeal to different audiences."
"At the end of the day, I don't know many shows this lively, exciting and funny," Tomashoff said. "It's one of the wildest, most fun shows I've seen in ages."
If you've somehow missed the boat, don't fret. Ball gave Tomashoff a list of nine essential episodes to get you up to speed for season four.
Comcast subscribers to HBO Xfinity can watch all previous episodes on XfinityTV.com. And for those who can't wait till the next week for the second episode of season four, they can watch it immediately following the premiere, also on the website.
Novelist Charlaine Harris has said she'll wrap the "Sookie Stackhouse" series, on which "True Blood" is based, after the 13th book. The 11th, "Dead Reckoning," debuted at No. 1 on The New York Times best-seller list last month.
Ball, however, foresees at least a few more seasons to "True Blood."
