Val Kilmer Out of the Hospital, Posts Smiling Photo
"Freedom!!!!" the actor wrote.
— -- About a week after going to the hospital for tests and treatment, Val Kilmer is out and feeling much better.
The 55-year-old actor posted a smiling photo to Facebook on Saturday with the caption: "This was taken after I left the hospital yesterday afternoon. Freedom!!!! Thanks again for all of your love and support. I'm so grateful."
Kilmer, who had been at the Intensive Care Unit at Los Angeles Hospital, added, "Thank you all for your prayers, love and support. I'm so happy to say, the emergency that lead me to dial 911 is well over and I'm out of the hospital and in a safe healing environment. The doctors and nurses I met were wonderful and very respectful of my spiritual priorities and I can't thank you all enough for your professionalism and genuine care."
Last month it was reported that Kilmer was having trouble with his throat, possibly a tumor. The actor quickly took to Facebook to dispel all cancer rumors.
"I have not had a tumor, or a tumor operations, or any operation. I had a complication where the best way to receive care was to stay under the watchful eye of the UCLA ICU. Friends have assisted who know my spiritual convictions and have been most sensitive and kind for the extra effort in making sure there's minimum gossip and silly talk. I am praying for a speedy return to the boards as they say. God bless you all and please don't worry. Love and deep affection , Val," he wrote on Jan. 31.
The "Top Gun" star has been working on his latest film, a "dream role" shooting "Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn," which is due out in April and preparing to direct and star in a movie about Mark Twain, "Mark Twain and Mary Baker Eddy." He has lost weight for the role.
