Many of the stars from "Wet Hot American Summer" signed on to the Netflix revival of the 2001 film, and now fans have a sneak peek as to what to expect.
"For us, the original movie was about the notion of finishing unfinished business. That idea that you have one day to do all the things you wish you'd done but were too afraid," said writer-director David Wain. "The series is about establishing your identity."
Elizabeth Banks, Michael Ian Black, Bradley Cooper, Judah Friedlander, Janeane Garofalo, Joe Lo Truglio, Ken Marino, Christopher Meloni, Marguerite Moreau, Zak Orth, Amy Poehler, David Hyde Pierce, Paul Rudd, Molly Shannon and Michael Showalter suited up in their tiny shorts and knee socks for the eight-episode series -- a prequel to the cult classic.
"In real life, we're 15 years older, but in the show we're playing two months younger," said Wain. "The movie took place on the last day of camp in the summer of 1981. The show takes place on the first day."
"Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp" comes to Netflix on July 31.
