Below is a statement from Desert Inn Resort:

Per our conversation with you on January 20, 2011 we feel this is unjust and would like the opportunity to inform you of many important facts.

Trip Advisor has remarks that can be placed by anyone. We have found that by reading some of the comments that have been placed in the remarks; that our competition is trying to downgrade our hotel to obtain more business for their hotels. We have responded to the remarks with pride of what a great staff and facility we do really have. We have spent an enormous amount of money in the past few years putting everything from new flooring, furniture, curtains and so much more. If you are looking for facts; between 70-80% of our guests are either repeat or referral guests.

If your looking for facts; Trip Advisor has wanted us to advertise with them but we felt they were too costly and not worthy of our marketing budget.

Fact: The following hotels in the Daytona area have the same rating:Hawiian InnSuper 8Myan Inn

Fact: The following hotels are lower ratingThe IslanderComfort Inn

There are probably many more but this was a quick glance.

We invite you here to see for yourselves. We have a great Hotel and staff.

Sincerely,

Dennis Devlin
