"We (The Grand Resort Hotel Group) acknowledge and accept full responsibility for the current situation and would like to state that this issue is being taken very seriously. We (The Grand Resort Hotel Group) have recently come under new management and have already begun taking the proper steps necessary to restore this once great property, which has played host to tens of thousands of satisfied customers every year for its 30 years of existence. It is the mission of our new management team to restore The Grand Resort Hotel & Convention Center to once again become the premier destination for the Smoky Mountain area and we are deeply committed to seeing it through."
Below is an updated statement from the Grand Resort Hotel Group:
The Grand Resort Hotel & Convention Center received its score from an impromptu hotel/motel inspection conducted by the Health Department on Jan. 19. The hotel scored 89 out of 100 possible points. New President and CEO, Nicky Darrell Chaney, will continue to work on the problems a 30 year old property experiences. "We are continuing the process of improving our property. But as our score shows, we are a far cry from being the dirtiest hotel in America. These findings prove there is a flaw in the rating system websites such as tripadvisor.com uses to determine hotel ratings."
