Sept. 27, 2005 — -- Joran van der Sloot admits he lied about missing Alabama teen Natalee Holloway, but said he left her unharmed on an Aruba beach in May. Holloway's mother, Beth Holloway Twitty, is infuriated by van der Sloot's latest claims.

After almost three months in jail as the prime suspect, van der Sloot, 18, is free and attending college in the Dutch town of Arnhem with no restrictions. He spoke to "A Current Affair" in an exclusive interview, which aired Monday.

"Obviously, she was drunk. I had stuff to drink too," van der Sloot said. "She wanted to go with me. I wanted to go with her. It was totally consensual. I had something to drink and she had something to drink, and I just don't think it's fair."

While van der Sloot remains a suspect in the case, ABC News has learned Aruban police are exploring whether a "beach bum" might have come across Holloway.

Holloway was last seen leaving a bar with van der Sloot and brothers Satish and Deepak Kalpoe. Van der Sloot said he and Holloway went to a beach. She wanted to stay all night, he said, but added he left her because he had school the next day.

Van der Sloot said he and the Kalpoes were afraid because they left Holloway alone at night, and that is why they agreed to lie about the last time they saw her. But he insisted it was not because the three thought they did something wrong.

Twitty has suggested her daughter was sexually abused.

"I kiss with her, but neither me, Deepak or Satish ever had sex with her, and no one ever, ever said otherwise," van der Sloot said. "I've never touched a girl aggressively in my life and there's no one who can say otherwise."

Twitty is in New York speaking with international lawyers. She refuses to drop the case.

"I'll never move forward until I get answers," Twitty said. "I will never let Aruba go from my mind and Natalee go from my mind until we have answers because they are there."
