Easter Candy Wine Pairings: Sip Pinot, Eat Peeps

Adults may indulge in candy just as much as the kids do on Easter. Joel Kampfe, wine director of ENO Wine Bar, offers wine pairings for any sweet you might indulge in on Sunday. Whether it's jelly beans or a chocolate bunny, rest assured your wine will complement them perfectly.

Pairing: NV Bailly-Lapierre Cremant de Bourgogne Sparkling Rose

The pink meat of the marshmallows are perfectly paired with this pink wine, a mixture of pinot noir and gamay. The wine has a floral, strawberry flavor.

Pairing: Ruby Reserve Porto from Quinta do Tedo

If you prefer a solid chocolate bunny, Kempfe suggests a smooth yet robust porto from a French winemaker. "But if you're like me, and you can't get enough of that hollowed bunny's hollowed structure, pop open a bottle of lush, velvety-textured 2009 L'ecole Columbia Valley Merlot from Washington state. I swear, the soil of Columbia Valley must be comprised of sandy loam and milk chocolate," he says.
