— -- "Girls" star Andrew Rannells is getting ready to say goodbye to the HBO series.

“We’re just about to start filming our sixth and final season,” Rannells told “Good Morning America’s” Lara Spencer. “It’s a long goodbye ... it’s going to be a tough final season to see how it all gets wrapped up, but I’m glad that we have a while to sort of prepare for this.

“With the exception of Zosia [Mamet], it was all of our first television jobs, so we’ve learned a lot and grown a lot and gotten to know each other very well,” he added.

Rannells’ character, Elijah, is finally in a stable relationship with a news anchor played by Corey Stoll.

"Elijah gets to have a shot at a real, adult relationship,” Rannels told “GMA’s” Lara Spencer. “ ... Our characters’ first kiss was right outside your studio ... like 2 a.m. in Times Square."

He continued: “It’s really nice to get to play sort of a very straight, romantic story line, and Corey was just a dream to work with and is so wonderful.”

Rannells recently stepped into the hottest show on Broadway, "Hamilton," to play King George for a limited time. He will be announcing the official Tony nominations in May and is currently writing a Judd Apatow-produced movie.

"Girls" airs Sunday nights on HBO.
