Feb. 3, 2010— -- Heading back to her southern roots, ABC's Robin Roberts will be in New Orleans to host a Super Bowl block party and anchor "Good Morning America" Friday morning live from Jackson Square.

Roberts, a native of neighboring Mississippi, will examine how the Saints' march to the Super Bowl has helped New Orleans as the city continues to rebuild after Hurricane Katrina devastated the area in 2005.

Three New Orleans Chefs will join Roberts' block party and Emeril Lagasse will Skype in to show the "GMA" audience how to prepare essential Super Bowl dishes.

And of course no block party would be complete without live music. Jazz trumpeter Kermit Ruffins, a native of New Orleans, will perform live.

"GMA" welcomes all New Orleans residents and those visiting the city to celebrate Mardi Gras to come to Jackson Square from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. local time and join in on the block party.

If you are not in New Orleans then tune in starting at 7:00 a.m. ET to watch the fun.
