Aug. 10, 2006 — -- Many travel restrictions are now in place after London authorities uncovered a terror plot aimed at airlines traveling from Britain to the United States.
Restrictions apply to all flights in and out of the United States, with the most significant being a prohibition on liquids allowed onboard, including lotions, gels, and contact lens solution.
London's Heathrow airport released the following statement about what is allowed on departing flights:

These measures will prevent passengers from carrying hand luggage into the cabin of an aircraft with the following exceptions (which must be placed in a plastic bag):
