Fla. Woman's Surprise Guest: An Eight-Foot Alligator
Sandra Frosti was shocked to see an eight-foot alligator in her kitchen.
April 23, 2008 — -- When 69-year-old Sandra Frosti heard a noise outside her Oldsmar, Fla., bedroom Monday night, she investigated and was shocked to see an uninvited houseguest in her kitchen — an 8-foot alligator.
"I was in my bedroom and I heard a noise. And I walked in and he was in the kitchen. Shock. How about that? But I'm not a screamer, so I just went 'Oh my God' and I ran to the telephone," Frosti said.
Frosti called 911 from her bedroom, where a recording documented her surprise.
"There's an alligator in my kitchen," she told an operator. "It's huge."
Even as the operator tried to get information from Frosti, she wasn't convinced an alligator actually was in the kitchen.
"Are you sure it couldn't be like an iguana?" the operator asked.
"Oh, no. No. No," Frosti responded.
Frosti said she believed the alligator pushed through the back porch screen door and came inside the home through an open sliding-glass door.
An Animal Capture of Florida trapper removed the alligator, according to The Associated Press. The animal was injured slightly when a plate that was knocked to the ground cut it during the chaos, but no one inside the home was injured.
