This is the first time we are directly hearing from the three, young women. They say they were so overcome with emotion by the outpouring of support from around the world, they had to say something. I want everyone to know how happy I am to be home, with my family and my friends. It's been unbelievable. Reporter: For the first time, this morning, we are seeing and hearing from the three, young women who lived a nightmare. I want to thank everyone who has helped me and my family, through this entire ordeal. Everyone who has been there to support us, it's been a blessing to have such an outpouring of love and kindness. Reporter: In a video statement, amanda berry, gina DeJESUS, AND MICHELLE KNIGHT, Seemed happy. Often smiling and showing gratitude to the people who helped. Thank you for your support. Reporter: The young women never mention ariel castro, the man accused of beating,nd holding them hostage for a decade. But they say two months since they escaped, they are slowly returning to a normal life. I may have been through hell and back. But I am strong enough to walk through hell with a smile on my face. And with my head held high and my feet firmly on the ground. Walking hand-in-hand with my best friend, I will not let the situation define who I am. I will define the situation. I don't want to be consumed by hatred. Reporter: One of the most touching moments comes from michelle knight. She was reportedly so severely beaten by her captor, she needed facial reconstructive surgery. Now, through a gleaming smile, she talks about their strength and resolve, after surviving the unthinkable. Be positive. Learn that it's important to give than to receive.
