To the wale watching boat stranded off the coast of Boston. Supposed to be a three-hour tour for more than 160 people who ended up trapped at sea all night long and ABC's gio Benitez is in Boston this morning. Good morning to you, gio. Reporter: Lara, good morning to you. This story developing as we come on the air right now. We're told that boat was just freed. It is on the way back to the harbor. This after an all-night ordeal way out there. This morning, snapshots inside the vessel stranded with 157 passengers and 6 crew members on board. ? the whale watching boat got caught in a tag line leaving them stranded. 15 miles off the Boston coast all night, one passenger tweeting "Whale watch boat tangled by something 17 miles away from Boston for over 10 hours now. I am on board with my family." The 83-foot passenger vessel set out from the harbor at around 1:00 P.M. Monday on what was supposed to be a three-hour tour ? the mate was a mighty sailing man ? the ? the skipper brave and sure by passenger set sail that day for a three-hour tour ? Reporter: But much like Gilligan's fateful trip the vessel never made it back to shore. About ten minutes into their return trip the boat seen in this photograph, got its propeller tangled in the tag line attached to a buoy and left the boat with all 163 passengers marooned. Divers with special cutting equipment spending hours trying to untangle the boat. Attempts to transfer passengers to another boat were unsuccessful. The coast guard deciding it was too dark and dangerous overnight. A cutter and two ships spent the night with the stranded cetacea to provide the passengers with anyed medical needs including seasickness, food and facilities. And so back out here live at the Boston harbor we can tell you that the divers we mentioned in that piece were able to cut the line and perhaps the best news of all this morning we're told everyone is okay this morning.
