An alarming spike in cases of a serious illness carried by mosquito called chikungunya, painful virus first picked up in the caribbean but confirmed cases in the U.S. Soared over the past week. Just last December it arrived in the caribbean. We were talking about a handful of cases. Now there are over 400,000 cases in that area and Americans are picking it up when they travel. We have the same mosquito here that's causing disease there is there a couple of Americans picked it up in Florida. What are the symptoms and what can you do? The symptoms, headache, fever, muscle ache, tell-tale symptom is joint pain and arthritis. The way to avoid it fight the bite. Make sure you use repellant and get rid of free standing water and screens are intact and that will do a lot.
