denise richards. Back to tv tonight, in a brand-new abc family series. It's called "twisted." In the show, she plays a mom with a 16-year-old. That's a stretch. That's good acting. So happy to have denise here with us to tell us about the new job that you have. And doing such a good job. Hi, friend. Hi, friend. How are you? I'm terrific. Congratulations on the new series. Thank you. As I said, it's a bit of a departure. You play a mom of a 16-year-old. I do. It's a bit heavy. He's a kid with some problems. He is a kid with some problems. But it was a script that i really loved the writing. And I love all of the characters. So, it was something that i thought would be fun and different. And really enjoying it. I want to show everybody a clip. The child has done something terrible. It says that I'm allowed to say it. Can we say what he did? If they say it's allowed, sure. I'm scared. I'm not going to. Here's a scene. And in it, karen, your character, is confronting her 16-year-old son. Take a look, everyone. I don't understand. Why won't you talk to me? All I want to do is help you. Is that why you brought me back to a town where everybody thinks I'm a teenage ten bundy. This is home. This is where your father and i raised you. This is where you were the top of a small town pyramid. The most popular mom in the neighborhood. All right. Are you able to pull from your experiences as a mom for this character? Definitely as a mom I can pull from. It's different being a mom to three little girls than a teenage boy who is, you know, 16, 17, with a lot of problems. But you know, I love working with evan. He played my son. My girls were a fan of his from "victoria." Mom, you're his mom. Your cool factor has gone up? Yeah. You were saying you can relate to being scrutinized. You are back in town. Having all eyes on you. People talking about you. Are you able to pull from your past experiences? Yeah, definitely. These are different circumstances. I've had everything said and written about me that you can possibly imagine. And I think obviously I'm not -- and kids are great? Kids are good. Everyone's good. All right. We will go through a lightning round. Are you up for it? These are okay. Don't worry. Ready. Lightning round music. Denise richards, your first celebrity crush? John travolta. Good choice. Guilty pleasure? Food. Anything? Ice cream. I'm thinking what else? Morning show. Superpower. What would it be? To listen to everything. To listen to everything. To hear what people are thinking. Oh. The song that makes you happy every time you hear it? "Dancing queen." That, my friend, is the lightning round. Good. That was easy. I was nervous. Denise richards, everybody. Back and better than ever on "twisted." It premieres tonight, 9:00 eastern, 8:00 central, on abc family.
