Transcript for 'DWTS' Karina Smirnoff Gets Hollywood Home Makeover
Reporter: Karina smirnoff feels right at home on the dance floor. But feeling right about her home's furnishings can be trickier than a tango. How would you describe your style? I would say it's contemporary and light. I have been looking around at different stores. And I wanted to do this couch because this is easy. And it's real leather. Reporter: Before Karina shops in other rooms in her home, some priceless device from Katherine Ireland. Don't rush things. Get your key pieces. Reporter: Is that a good strategy for people at home? Absolutely. The thing about doing your house is, it's expensive and you don't want to make mistakes. If you're uncertain of something, take it slowly. Reporter: And check out a store's return policy. I see two walls that I think need something on them. One would be over here. And then, this wall over here. It looks a little bland to me. Reporter: What a view. This is wonderful out here. You have a ton of room. But we can dress it up. Reporter: She's going to do all this for less than $500. Surprise. So, we're going to start with the patio furniture. That's an area you want to work on. What do you think of the fire pit? If your heart is really set on this, I think we're going to have to splash on this one thing. And then, work the rest of the budget around it. Reporter: Two chairs for the fire pit, less than $20 each. Two trees for the patio. And a planter for each. I want to stick with the modern feel of the house. I like the metallic sun. Reporter: I like the price. This is all not the right stuff for your house. This one over there, probably a better size. I like it a lot. A room can look sterile unless you have the finishing touches. Reporter: A mirror here, a clock there. Little touches can make big impressions. We had a $500 budget. We got in under. Great team. Reporter: For "Good morning America," Cameron Mathison, ABC news, Los Angeles. A fire pit is a must-have item. If you're going to splurge, you have to splurge on the fire pit. We want to thank our spore sore, Lowe's, for providing these items for Karina's home.
