Amy? We're getting you ready for summer, to get that perfect beach body, with tvo's maria menounos. You would never know that maria was once overweight. And now, sharing her slimdown secrets to "The everygirl's guide to diet and fitness." A lot of people look at you and think, no way. But you had to work. And you continue to work at keeping your body fit and trim. Absolutely. You know, I -- hi. I gained all that weight, primarily in college. My parents always cooked healthy, mediterranean diet food at home. My dad was diabetic. We didn't know what junk food was. And I got to college and had this cafeteria of endless food. And I took advantage. And I got more and more heavy has the years went on. And decided I needed to make a change. You say, even with this change, you still eat pizza. You still eat nachos. How is that possible? Absolutely. In the book, I talk about a 75/25 split. 75% of the time, healthy and clean as much of the time. The 25%, I can play. The key is, you want to really think about it as being healthy, not skinny. And then, the skinny is the by-product of the weight loss. You look fantastic. "The New York post" has declared you have the best beach body. Congratulations on that accolade. Thank you. Let's run through some of your secrets. You say one of your favorite tips is to drink hot water. Yes. It's detoxifying and destressing. If you're drinking hot water. I drink it all day long and definitely after meals. It's really worked and it's helpful for your stomach. When it comes to exercise, one of the things to do is to take pictures of the exercise you like. I have some great recipes. But I have a lot of great workouts. Workouts you can do out here in central park. And take pictures of them. You are not going to lug around a book. And you have things you can bring with you. An easy exercise you can show us right now. I do. I do workouts everywhere. I'm on the phone at work. And having conference calls. And literally, you won't see me because I'm on a speakerphone with you. But I'm doing my workout while I'm talking to you. Amy, so, here we go. I do my squats at my desk. Little things because I don't want to go to the gym. I want to get fitness throughout the day. I aim to get 10,000 steps a day. I wear a fitness trackers. And sometimes I get a little less. Sometimes I get a little more. It averages out. The biggest thing I want to spread with this book is that, let's all think about it as healthful. Think about it as fuel you're putting in your body. And eventually this machine will crap out on you if you keep putting bad stuff into it. You can have birthday cake because your birthday is coming out. So, happy birthday. And to get maria's everygirl tips and the recipes for her nachos. Go to our website, goodmorningamerica.com on Yahoo! And maria's new book is in stores now. Coming up, guys, you want to hear a little more demi Lovato?
