What Are Some Of The Peculiar Topics That Are Commonly Of Special Interest To Individuals With Autism?

Question: What are some of the peculiar topics that are commonly of special interest to individuals with autism?

Answer: You know, I don't think that you can say that there are particular topics -- individual children with autism are children. And each has his or her own individual characteristics and preferences and likes and tendencies, and they really vary from child to child. So, some like to learn facts about history, some may like to learn about vacuum cleaners and electrical appliances. It's hard to predict or to judge what a focused interest might be.
