How Do You Know That You Have Osteoarthritis?

Question: Hi, I'm Ruth, and I am a polio survivor, and I have a chronic pain that I live with daily. My question is: How do you know that you have osteoarthritis? I've never had a formal diagnosis, and I want to know if there is a test for it.

Dr. Carol Warfield answers the question: 'Is There A Test For Osteoarthritis?'

Answer: Well, Ruth, the most common way to diagnose osteoarthritis is with an X-ray. X-rays of your joints will show degeneration of the bone around the joints, and this signifies arthritis.
