Can An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Be Helpful To Me If I Am Depressed?

Question: Can an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) be helpful to me if I am depressed?

Barry Rovner, M.D., Thomas Jefferson University

Answer: These programs can be very helpful. They allow somebody to reach out immediately to get guidance if their mood is low and they don't know who else to go to. Alternatively, people might prefer to see their primary care doctors -- somebody whom they know and trust.
