— -- Question: Hi I'm Eve in Austin, Texas and I was wondering what prescriptions impair insulin secretions?

Answer: Eve, that's the best question I've been asked so far. There are two specific drugs that can significantly impact the amount of insulin the body makes from the beta cells of the pancreas. And those two drugs are growth hormone, especially which is used in people who are not growing tall enough. And the second one is the use of steroids.

Those two drugs can indirectly increase the amount of insulin need in the body. And thus, the amount of insulin that comes out of the pancreas might increase and thus cause insulin resistance.
