— -- Question: What are the signs and symptoms of diabetes in a child?

Answer: The classic symptoms of diabetes in a child are frequent urination, thirst, hunger and weight loss. In some children, if they've been having these symptoms for awhile, the hunger may be replaced by nausea and the child may actually be rather sick when they show up. The frequent urination may show up also as bed-wetting in a child that had previously not had that problem before. But the classic symptoms are thirst, frequent urination, weight loss and hunger.
