Hypertension (High Blood Pressure)

Effective management of high blood pressure reduces your risks of heart disease and stroke. This three-month study will evaluate an investigational medication for high blood pressure. All study-related care is provided at no cost, including physical exams, blood pressure testing, lab tests, and study medication.

The research site is in Brooklyn Center, Minn.

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

This study seeks volunteers at least 18 who have been diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), have been on SLE medication (corticosteroids, immunosuppressive drugs, anti-malarias, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) for more than 30 days, and are not HIV- or hepatitis B-positive.

The research site is in Manhasset, NY.

Multiple Myelomas

This study will compare the effects of an investigational drug plus bortezomib (Velcade), versus bortezomib alone, to treat multiple myeloma. Candidates 18 or older may be included who have been diagnosed with multiple myeloma that is refractory or has relapsed after treatment, who have failed one or two prior therapies for multiple myeloma, and who have not been given more than two prior therapies for the disease.

The research sites are in the United States and Canada.
