Question: What can be done to relieve the symptoms of angina during sexual intercourse?

Answer: We know that if a patient takes a beta blocker during sexual activity, that the occurrence of angina can be reduced dramatically. And in fact, we recommend that most patients who have active coronary artery disease take a beta blocker just before engaging in intensive sexual activity.
