Question: Why would I be hospitalized for heart failure?

Answer: Most patients are hospitalized with congestive heart failure because of signs or symptoms. Signs would include things like swelling in the legs, in the stomach. Symptoms would be things like shortness of breath, chest discomfort, difficulty doing their day-to-day activities without feeling fatigued or severely limited.
