Answer: There are two treatments related to preventing hair loss that I believe are effective. The first is topical minoxidil, which is available over the counter. And all this involves is twice daily application of droplets to the affected areas of the scalp. This can be effective for preventing hair loss and it might even restore some new hairs as well.
The other medication is only available by prescription from a physician and this is finasteride. And this pill prevents hair loss and at the same time, often will achieve some degree of hair regrowth as well.
