Answer: Common volleyball injuries include shoulder injuries, including strains of the rotator cuff, ACL tears or ankle sprains. Ways of avoiding volleyball injuries include stretching your shoulder, especially working on sleeper stretches, where you stretch out the posterior capsule of your shoulder -- that can help prevent major volleyball injuries especially with repetitive overhead serving motions.

And also working on how you land. Practicing how you land is especially helpful in protecting you from getting ACL injuries. We found, in women, practicing landing -- we call this neuromuscular training -- is particularly helpful.
