Does Working During Treatment Affect Survival?
Dr. Harold Burstein answers the question: 'Should I Work During Treatment?'
— -- Question: If I work during my breast cancer (radiation and/or chemotherapy) treatment, will that affect my chances of survival?
Answer: Working during your cancer treatments will not affect your breast cancer survival. We certainly encourage women to lead as normal a lifestyle as possible. And one of the hopes we have for them is that they will continue to be very involved in their communities, in their workplace, with their families, and feel pretty good during all of their treatments. So we encourage our patients to lead as normal a lifestyle as possible, and if that means work, there is certainly no reason to think that would affect your cancer.
