Question: Is pain expected after surgery for breast cancer?

Answer: Surgery certainly is one of the main reasons we have pain. However, the level of pain can vary from person to person. What is the most important thing to remember is you have a right to pain control.

So, tell your doctor, tell your nurse, and tell them what works and doesn't work for you. You're part of the team that'll get you good pain control.
