— -- Question: Should I tell my doctor if I am using complementary or alternative therapies?

Answer: It's very important that you tell your health care professionals about teas, herbs, supplements, special diet programs; any manual healing methods -- which would be massage, therapeutic touch, Reiki, any mind-body that you're doing -- even if it's prayer and spirituality. It's very important for someone who's taking responsibility for treating you to know all the modalities that you're using.
