Is There A Vaccine To Prevent The Development Of Rheumatoid Arthritis?

Question: Is there a vaccine to prevent the development of rheumatoid arthritis?

Dr. Eric Ruderman answers the question: 'Vaccine For Rheumatoid Arthritis?'

Answer: There is no vaccine that can prevent someone from getting rheumatoid arthritis. At this point, there are vaccine trials in the work or genetic trials in the work for rheumatoid arthritis, but mostly those are vaccinations that may actually reduce the severity of the disease after it happens. There are no vaccines that we know of and nothing that I believe is in the works right now that's likely to actually prevent rheumatoid arthritis.
