Heche Baby Rumors Persist

December 4 -- Though several tabs claim that Ellen DeGeneres' famous ex, Anne Heche, is pregnant, the actress's manager is steadily denying the stork story, stating simply that Heche's tummy grew after she told her rail-thin client to "put on some weight."

The baby rumor first surfaced nearly two months ago, when Heche started venturing into public with reported new beau Coley Laffoon, a cameraman who worked with Heche on DeGeneres' cross-country standup tour last summer. Recent photos in celeb rag The Star zoom in on Heche's supposedly swollen tummy, quoting a Heche source who notes, "It's becoming obvious Anne is pregnant. … She's extremely happy at the thought of being a mother."

Not so, Heche's manager, Lauren Lloyd, told the New York Post today. "I swear she's not pregnant." Lloyd adds that she encouraged the scrawny Heche to beef up.

Several other sources continue to trumpet the pregnancy bit. Wags on the set of Heche's new film, John Q, say she's been acting strange, including being tardy to the Toronto set one day because "she had been window-shopping at a baby store."

Internet gossip columnist Jeannette Walls, who first ran the fetal item, says many have told her that Heche is with child. "Anne really wanted to have a kid with Ellen, too," one snoop told Walls. "But Ellen wanted her to stay at home and give up her career. Coley is much more supportive of her career and the idea of her being a working mom."

Heche is reportedly three months along; by using complicated mathematical theorems, that means we'll all know the truth come May.
