— -- Philip Levendusky, Ph.D. is the director of psychology and psychology training at McLean Hospital, the largest psychiatric affiliate of Harvard Medical School. He also serves as the hospital's senior vice president for marketing and business development and is an associate professor of psychology at Harvard Medical School.
For nearly three decades, Dr. Levendusky has developed and directed cutting-edge clinical programs at McLean Hospital and is a national and international pioneer of integrated cognitive-behavioral treatment systems for people with serious mental illness. He developed a psychiatric treatment model for use in Saudi Arabia and is an active consultant to Medica Sur in Ixtapa, Mexico.
In addition, Dr. Levendusky has inspired a generation of students to achieve excellence in the pursuit of their professional careers. He has been instrumental in creating academic courses for the American Psychiatric Association, Harvard Medical School, the World Psychiatric Association and the Central Intelligence Agency.
Dr. Levendusky earned a doctorate in clinical psychology from Washington State University and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He joined the McLean Hospital staff in 1974.
He is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Association for the Advancement of Behavior Therapy and serves on the Board of Directors for the American Board of Clinical Psychology. He is a fellow of the Academy of Clinical Psychology and is a founding fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.
