Answer: Well, for a lot of people, acetaminophen or Tylenol is just as effective as the NSAIDs. And, it's generally considered safer. In fact, acetaminophen or Tylenol is what we'd usually use in the hospital.

But for moderate to severe pain on average, NSAIDs are a little bit more effective. However, it's worth trying acetaminophen or Tylenol first for pain because it's safer, and then moving on to NSAIDs if the Tylenol doesn't work.
