I'm David Wright in Gaza where the death toll continues to climb despite US efforts to broker a cease fire here in Gaza. More than 800 Palestinians killed so far. In Israel thirty plus Israeli soldiers have been killed mostly in the ground offensive. Plus three civilians killed by Hamas rocket fire but. Here in Gaza the overwhelming number of casualties are civilians many of them women and children. 80% of the casualties are thought to be civilians and today we heard a remarkable and tragic story of survival. 23 year old woman named China on them. Well and there -- ninth month of pregnancy. Was killed when an Israeli airstrike targeted her home her family's home. She was pronounced dead on arrival at a Gaza hospital. Miraculously the doctors managed to save the baby. A baby girl -- -- no name yet she will grow up without a mother. Possibly without a father to his life is in jeopardy we're told he's associated with the group Islamic Jihad. And that perhaps is why his home was targeted he's now gone into hiding the. Maybe however is doing well. And fragile stuff holding on to life and well cared for at this Gaza hospitals doctors. Domestics. And I think that she wisdom -- Polls she is but his team.
