— -- Food Network came to life Friday night at Rachael Ray's 7th annual Blue Moon Burger Bash for the New York City Wine & Food Festival.

Robert Irvine, Anne Burrell, Adam Richman, Alex Guarnaschelli, Marc Murphy, Andrew Zimmern and more came out for the celebrity chef studded affair with 32 contenders vying for the best burger of the year.

Murphy ended up taking home the top prize of judge's favorite with his unique "Lamb-Marc" burger, made with spiced ground lamb meat and mint chimichurri on a Martin's Famous Potato Roll.

"I've been doing this a while and wanted to switch it up a bit," Murphy said of why he went with a lamb burger, and added that he hadn't expected to win. "I had no idea. It was a very big surprise. It was a lot of fun."

Burrell, Richman, Zimmern and Jets football player Nick Mangold judged the event, looking for the best burger of the bunch in a blind tasting.

"I always say a good burger is a team effort, so it has to be about the meat, the bun, the toppings and how everybody works together," Burrell said. "[Marc Murphy's] was just the most delicious burger with the lamb and the feta. I'm a big salty, meaty, lamby girl."

Josh Capon, executive chef of NYC's Burger & Barrel, won people's choice burger for the fifth time in six years. His beef "Bash Burger" came on a Martin's Famous Potato Roll with caramelized onion and bacon jam, shaved pickles, American cheese and "secret sauce" -- which Capon spilled to ABC News was really just a seasoned ketchup and mayonnaise mixture.

"I'm not going to lie to you -- this is the award-winning bash burger. If it ain't broke, don't fix it," Capon said. "Everybody's trying to come up with something new to beat me. Until they beat this burger, I'm not changing a freaking thing."

Ray sounded surprised when she announced that Capon had yet again taken People's Choice Award, calling it a "Rocky" moment.

"I feel on top of the world," Capon said of the win.

Other favorites included Robert Irvine's Oktoberfest-themed contender, Alex Guarnaschelli's Parisian Santa Fe burger and national chain Shake Shack's famous patty.

This year was the 16th time Ray has hosted a Burger Bash between NYC and South Beach's food festivals.

"The chefs keep it fresh. They bring new and different burger ideas each year putting new stuff between the buns," she said. "I think the concept is really simple, but beautiful -- the world's greatest chefs put their talents between a bun making it accessible and fun and welcoming for everybody. There's definitely no food snobbery going on in a burger tent with lots of beer."
