'Harry Potter': New Images from Illustrated Edition Released by Scholastic

Scholastic just released exclusive images from the new book.

— -- For the first time, Scholastic has released images of the upcoming illustrated version of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone."

The book, which is the first of J.K. Rowling's bestselling series, is to be published worldwide on October 6.

Illustrated by award-winning artist Jim Kay, the deluxe hardcover edition marks the premier of a Harry Potter book featuring full color throughout.

Many of the series' original publishers will join the U.S. and the U.K. in bringing the illustrations to life.

Over 450 million copies of the Harry Potter books have sold globally and they continues to appear on bestseller lists in the U.S.
